Stuttgart, 11th February 2021

DYNAmore GmbH is pleased to announce that the head of the competence field Process Simulation as well as of the DYNAmore Material Competence Center (MCC) Dr.-Ing.
André Haufe has been appointed honorary professor at the University of Stuttgart. The professorship highlights the extraordinary competence that characterizes Mr. Haufe in his area of expertise. His main areas of expertise are material, failure and damage models of steels and plastics or composite materials in the field of short-term dynamics (e.g. vehicle crash, drop tests, explosion protection, etc.), as well as modeling technology, especially for the simulation of joining materials and their manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal forming, cutting simulation, welding distortion, but also braiding and infiltration simulation of resin systems for long and continuous fiber reinforced polymers.

Since 2002, Mr. Haufe is an employee of DYNAmore GmbH and in the meantime he has become a shareholder of the company. He represents DYNAmore in process simulation and R&D activities. Over the years, Mr. Haufe has driven many technological developments in LS-DYNA and established numerous training areas. These include, for example, training courses on airbag simulation with FSI (ALE and particle methods), sheet metal forming simulation (electro-thermo-mechanical coupled), material modeling, modeling of joining devices, failure and damage models and, since 2013, element formulations and nonlinear aspects of
structural simulation.

In addition, Mr. Haufe is involved in numerous working groups of industry and university research (FOSTA, EFB, AiF, FAT) and supervises research projects funded by the BMBF, the BMWi and the EU for DYNAmore GmbH. Since 2013, this also includes collaboration in the research campus of the University of Stuttgart (ARENA2036) within the BMBF-funded start-up project "DigitPro" or now "Digital Fingerprint".

Mr. Haufe has been teaching as a lecturer at the Institute of Statics and Dynamics of Aerospace Structures at the University of Stuttgart for the subject "Theory and Application of Explicit Finite Element Methods" since 2006. He has also been a lecturer at the Institute of Forming Technology at the University of Stuttgart since 2014: there he teaches the subject "Process Simulation in Forming Technology".

"The nomination of Mr. Haufe as a professor is very special for DYNAmore GmbH," explains Dr. Thomas Münz, Managing Director of the company. "We are very fortunate to have Mr. Haufe as part of DYNAmore GmbH. The company benefits greatly from his expertise and network, and we hope to celebrate further successes with him, for example in the expansion of the MaterialCompetence Center," Münz continues.

In addition to Professor Dr. André Haufe, numerous other experts for LS-DYNA and LS-OPT are available at DYNAmore and happy to support with any questions.
